Hussain is a seasoned financial executive who served in senior leadership roles across financial institutions in the GCC. During his extensive career he played pivotal roles in steering financial institutions' strategic direction and expanding their global footprint.

Hussain Abdulla is a seasoned financial executive and investor with over two decades of leadership experience spanning banking, investments, and entrepreneurship across the GCC and international markets. He is currently a Partner at Golden Gate Ventures (GGV), a Singapore-based venture capital firm that expanded into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in 2024 with the launch of a USD 100 million fund dedicated to the region. Based in Qatar, Hussain spearheads GGV’s cross-border investment strategy, driving innovation-led and impact-driven growth across emerging markets. His work bridges global capital and regional opportunity, supporting the next generation of high-growth technology ventures in MENA. Prior to joining GGV, Hussain served as Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Investment Committee at QInvest, Qatar’s leading investment bank. In this role, he oversaw the firm’s global investment strategy and capital allocation, guiding multi-billion-dollar initiatives across asset classes. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions at Standard Chartered Bank and Qatar National Bank, where he executed and managed transactions exceeding USD 40 billion across private markets, real estate, and capital markets. Hussain holds a Bachelor of Science in Banking and Financial Studies from the University of Qatar. His career reflects a consistent commitment to building resilient financial ecosystems, fostering cross-border collaboration, and advancing the role of venture capital as a catalyst for sustainable economic transformation.
